Thanks for listening
J.D. PEARMAN Alto

I was informed today that KWRW will no longer broadcast the Alto Yellowjacket football games as it has since the 1983 season.

KWRW will carry the Jacksonville Indian games in place of the 'Jackets. This marks the end of an era for KWRW, the Yellowjackets and those of us who endeavored to bring the action to you over these many years.

I recorded a tape delay broadcast of Alto at Elkhart in 1980. At Groveton in 1983, I took part in my first live game broadcast with Stan Graham. Since that time I have been a part of the broadcast of too many great games to try to touch on more than just a couple.

The 1995 state final game was ranked as one of the ten best of the 1990s by Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine. In all KWRW broadcast six state final games. (Three in softball, one in baseball, and two in football.) The 'Jackets saved the best for last by winning the 2006 Class A, Davison I state title game in what would be the last football game broadcast on KWRW for Alto.

I would like to thank all of you that have listened in over the years, all of the guys I have had the pleasure to work with on these broadcasts, and of course all of the sponsors.

It has been a lot of laughs, a few tears and a lot of good ones.
