VIRGINIA LOUISE SOSBY BLADES

Graveside service for Virginia Louise (Nanny) Sosby Blades, 80, of Crystal Beach was at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jarratt Cemetery with Davy Carter officiating. Mrs. Blades died July 4 at Winnie. She was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Rusk.

She retired from Southwest Distributing Co. in Houston and later served on the municipal courts in Jacksonville and was a New Summerfield city councilwoman. Preceding her in death were her parents, David and Alva Sosby; a sister, Verna Mae and a brother, David Sosby Jr. Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Kenneth Gose of Crystal Beach; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Wendell Jordan of Kosse; a grandson and his wife, Robert Shannon and Sheri Gardner of Crystal Beach; a granddaughter and her husband, Leigh Erin and Rodney Rivera of Crystal Beach; a great-grandson, Camden Eugene Gardner of Crystal Beach; a great-grandson, Raleigh Rivera of Crystal Beach; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Fluck of Galveston and Samantha Fluck of Crystal Beach; nieces, nephews and cousins.Thompson Funeral Home was in charge.
