Alto woman observes 90th birthday July 14

Lee Etta Myers of Alto celebrated her 90th birthday on July l4. However, the celebrations began early on July 12 when Mrs. Myers' sister, Charline Meador, a niece and a friend took her to DeLeon's in Wells for lunch. They said "The food was great and dessert was a delicious coconut pie, with a candle and singing of 'Happy Birthday' by all."

On her birthday, Saturday July 14, her caretaker, Sandra, treated her with a special home cooked meal, a birthday cake, balloons, streamers and lots of pictures to help her remember that special day. She expressed her appreciation to her caretaker, friends and family for helping make her 90th birthday a special occasion. "May God bless each and everyone," she said.

On July 19th her sister Jane and daughter came from Texas City and another birthday was celebrated, this time for Jane at DeLeon's in Wells.

After another meal including coconut pie with candle, it was decided that DeLeon's would be the official birthday restaurant for the family.
