Science camps planned at Jim Hogg Park Aug. 14-15

HOPE sets lunch, learn event Aug. 17
      The Texas Cooperative Extension and the Cherokee County Family and Consumer Sciences Committee will sponsor a lunch and learn event from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at HOPE in Jacksonville.      Shelly and Stephen Hughes and Kevin Dewbré of Rusk announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, C.J. Dewbré, to Jeremy Simpson, son of Judy and Harold Simpson of Rusk. The couple will be married at 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church.

Caboose moves to park
     Caboose No. 359 will be m moved to the Whitehead Heritage Park on U.S. Highway 69. New Birmingham Resources distributed dirt for the location. Plans are to use the caboose as a focal point for a "Welcome to Rusk Home of the Texas State Railroad" outdoor sign.

Registration planned at River of Life School of Ministry
      Fall registration at the River of Life School of Ministry in Rusk is planned for 4-7 p.m. July 30-Aug. 3. Morning classes will be from 7:30 a.m.-12:05 p.m. Monday through Friday. New evening classes are from 6:15-10:05 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
