WELDON JACKSON (BUDDY) DODD Funeral for Weldon Jackson (Buddy) Dodd, 82, of Jacksonville was at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bullard First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Roberson and Joel Whitmire officiating. Burial was in Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Dodd died July 10. He was born April 24, 1925, in Houchton, Ga. He was the retired chief appraiser for the Huntsville ISD, a member of the Bullard First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Huntsville Masonic Lodge. Preceding him in death were a brother, Ray Dodd; and two sisters, Peggy Ray and Tacky Mitchum. Survivors are his wife, Florence Dodd of Jacksonville; a son, Rex M. Dodd of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Phyllis N Duncan of Forney; two brothers, George T. Dodd of Jacksonville and Byron Dodd of Whitehouse; a sister-inlaw, Christine Dodd of Tyler; a brother-in-law, Rev. Mitchum of Tyler; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bryan Duncan, Ben Duncan, Cody Dodd, Jason Corley, Joel Payne and Anthony Salisbury. Honorary pallbearers were Bradley Lewis, Larry Locke, Andy Devine, Gail Jackson, Eric Rodriguez, Randy Rodriguez and Rod Rodriguez. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
