Wells ISD forms PTA

Wells Independent School District Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is being formed for the 2007-08 school year. Bylaws of the Wells PTA are available for review in the Wells ISD offices. The first general meeting of the organization will be held at 6 p.m. Aug.30 in the school cafeteria. Bylaws will be approved at that time.

Membership dues are $10 per year and may be paid at the Wells ISD Meet the Teacher event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 or at the general meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug.30. More information may be received from any Wells PTA board member. Officers of the Wells PTA board are Michele Melton. president; Amanda Scroggins, vice-president; DeAnn Selman, secretary; Cathy Grayson, treasurer.

Registration planned at

River of Life School

Fall registration at the River of Life School of Ministry in Rusk is planned for 4-7 p.m. July 30-Aug. 3. Morning classes will be from 7:30 a.m.-12:05 p.m. Monday through Friday. New evening classes are from 6:15-10:05 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Fall classes begin Aug. 6. Classes will include Old Testament Survey, How to Study the Bible and The Book of Ephesians.

Summer hours set

at Stella Hill Library

The Stella Hill Library began summer hours on June 26. The library will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The children's story hour will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursdays, the same time as previous summers.
