Rusk Lady Eagle right fielder and relief pitcher Cami Curtis is keeping busy this summer by pitching for the Anderson Express. The Express is an Amateur Softball Association (ASA) 14U select team out of Palestine, which won fourth place at the Texas State ASA Fastpitch Championships on June 22- 24 in Tyler.
The Express chalked up wins over the Lady Crushers, '92 Bombers and Schutt Avengers before suffering losses to the Texas Chill and the Austin Stars.
ASA softball teams compete in local, state and national tournaments and offer an opportunity for players to hone their skills between high school seasons.
Curtis started as a freshman for the Rusk Lady Eagles
last season.
