Wells 4-H group wins at district show

A group from the Wells 4-H qualified to go to the state horse show July 21-28 in Abilene. They competed in the District Five contest June 18-19 at Athens.

River Goodwin placed first in the grade mare division and will proceed to state.

The others decided not to make the trip to the state horse show. They are Morgan Jones, Ashley Meaux-Goodwin and Shelby Tullos, who won in district team penning. Miss Tullos also won in break-away roping.

Donations are being sought to help with River's expenses for the Abilene trip.
