Crews graduates basic combat training

CREWS
Army Reserve Specialist Christopher D. Crews has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson

in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, Specialist Crews studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values. He was trained in physical fitness, basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet fighting, drill and ceremony marching, marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice, and first aid.

Specialist Crews earned distinction as the top soldier leader of the cycle out of 250 other soldiers, as nominated by his drill sergeants. He is the son of Dale and Mary Crews of Rusk. He is a 2001 graduate of Rusk High School and received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech in 2006.
