LANEY ROE MINTON Funeral for Laney Roe Minton, 75, of Bullard was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bullard Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Barron officiating. Burial was in Bullard Cemetery under the direction of Autry Funeral Home. Mr. Minton died June 29. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Poynor. He worked for 30 years for Nichols Kusan and 14 years for Smith County Road and Bridge. He was a member of the Bullard Southern Baptist Church. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Bullard Masonic Lodge and the Bullard Cemetery Association. Preceding him in death were his parents, John Buchanan and Eula Mae Morton Minton; a daughter, Cindy Diane Minton; a brother, Lawrence Minton; two sisters, Geraldene Zorn and Olga Jones. Survivors are his wife of 51 years, LaVerne Minton of Bullard; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Minton of Bullard; a granddaughter, Sarah Minton of Bullard; a sister, Alma Murphy of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Doris Minton of Jacksonville; special grandchildren, Haley Murphy, Aubrie Murphy, Jesse Harris, Jaylyn Harris, Jenise Harris, Taylor Fountain, Libby Eitel, Molly Duncan and Taylor Fredrick. Pallbearers were Arlin Harris, Jack Harris, Jack Cheek, Tom Oxford, W.T. Jennings, Jimmy Bain, Billy Jack Field and Albert Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Merl Salmon, Lee Grosdidier and Pat O'Connell. |
