Independence Day celebration termed success

Rusk Fourth of July activities last weekend drew large crowds, said planners for the events. The Veterans Appreciation party Friday night was well attended, Roy Reynolds, coordinator said.

The downtown area was filled with participants and speculators for the annual parade.

The event was sponsored by Citizens 1st Bank, Greg James Country Motors and local veterans.

Revival scheduled

Revival services are planned for 7 p.m. July 9-13 at the Abundant Life Tabernacle Church, 308 N. Bolton in Jacksonville. The Rev. Clint Bass of Palestine will be evangelist.

The Rev. F.E. Kennedy is pastor and the Rev. Benny Brooks, assistant pastor. The public is invited to attend.
