Annual installation of officers set for June 28

Lion Sonny Adams announced June 21 that would be his last Thursday to serve as Rusk Lions Club president. The club will have its annual end of the year banquet at 6:30 p.m. June 28 for installation of new officers, new member induction, raffle/door prizes, musical entertainment and also enjoy Mexican food.

Guests June 21 were Nancy Timmons,, Matt Eckert and Lorraine Richards. Lorraine is the latest foreign exchange student.

She was met at the airport by Tim and Nancy Timmons with whom Lorraine will spend a few weeks this summer.

She is from LaBrevine, Switzerland and is 17-years-old. Lorraine speaks French, English and a little German.

Bobby Burch read a letter addressed to the Lions Club from Anna Martinez.

She thanked the club for selecting her as one of four scholarship winners. She received $500 to help her with college.

The club voted to acccept Matt Eckert for membership. He will be inducted into the club June 28 at the annual installation banquet.

Mr. Adams reported on the Lions Summer Camp for crippled children at Kerrville,.

He thanked the club for allowing his granddaughter the opportunity to attend this summer. He and his wife took their granddaughter to camp this past week, and he said the camp is wonderful.
