Rusk council meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday

The Rusk City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday at city hall to discuss and consider possible action on a purchase and sale agreement between the city and American Heritage Railways. The council is also scheduled to appoint three individuals to serve on the board for the Texas State Railroad Authority. The three persons currently representing Rusk on the authority are Charles Hassell, Bob Goldsberry and Marie Whitehead.

Three persons appointed earlier this month by the Palestine City Council include Dan Davis, Dale Brown and Wesley Holloway. Mr. Holloway replaces Steve Presley, who has served as chairman of that committee.

In addition to the six people from Rusk and Palestine a seventh person will be named by the authority after it re-organizes.

State funds granted by the legislature for renovation at the railroad will go through this board.
