7 Lady Eagles earn All District recognition

Seven players from Rusk's regional quarterfinalist team were named to the District 20-AAA All-District team. All seven players will return to next year's team.

First team honors went to Callie Collins, pitcher, and Sierra Smith, second base.

Rachel Mahaffey was second team All District third base.

Receiving honorable mentions were: Hillary Hugghins, Alison Bowling, Calah Clark and Cami Curtis.

Rusk went 9-3 in District 20-AAA, earning the third place playoff spot. The Lady Eagles defeated Fairfield and Rockdale before falling to district rival Huntington in the regional quarterfinals.

The Lady Eagles were coached by Rick Frauenberger, Tiffany Cooksey and Wayne Mahaffey.
