Valerie Dilliard makes

dean's list at Harding

Valerie Dilliard of Rusk was among the Harding University students included on the school's dean's list for grades achieved during the spring semester. She is a junior majoring in social work.

Alto Brotherhood meets

June 23 at New Hope

The Alto Area Christian Brotherhood will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the New Hope Baptist Church. The church is located on U.S. Highway 69 north of Alto. Questions may be directed to Willie J. Brown (936) 858-3361.

Vacation Bible school

planned at Ponta

The Ponta Baptist Church will sponsor Good News Farm, a vacation Bible school program, from 6:30-8 p.m. June 25-29. There will be memory verses, Young people will participate in singing, volley ball, arts and crafts and a rubber chicken chunking contest.

Hotdogs and watermelon will be served. Activities are available for youth from age two through teenagers. Jack White will teach the adult class. The church is located at the intersection of Highways 110 and 204.

All you can eat benefit fish fry and chicken strip dinner is planned from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Maydelle Video and More Cafe. The event is being held to help with medical bills for Bonnie Wolf Dosser.
