Family fun day planned Saturday at Caddoan Mounds State Historic Site

Caddoan Mounds State Historic Site will hold a "family fun day" from 11 a.m. -3 p.m. this Saturday.

There is no charge for the event, but donations are welcome.

Activities planned include a tug-a-war, frisbee throwing, horseshoes, kite flying, potato sack races for all ages and a stick horse rodeo for children 10 years and younger.

Caddoan Mounds staff members will provide a history of the 1800s in East Texas along the El Camino Real National Historic Trail.

The Dutch Oven Society will be present, and visitors can watch a demonstration of lace-making.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
