HOMER DOUGLAS HIGGINS Funeral for Homer Douglas Higgins, 73, was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Calvin Gould officiating. Burial was in Jarratt Cemetery. Mr. Higgins died June 7. He was born in Taladega, Ala. March 26, 1934, to Revy and Flora Higgins. He retired from TXU as a foreman in 1996 after 30 years. He served in the Army and was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his first wife; Jo Ann Higgins, six brothers and sisters. Survivors are his wife, Mary Lynn Higgins; two sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Donna Tucker of Jacksonville and Don Littlejohn of Rusk; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila and Joseph Gauldin, Reba Gail and Doug Wright, Eastabuga, Ala. and Donna Littlejohn of Rusk; six grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren; six brothers, Reva Higgins, Billy Higgins, Glenn Higgins of Alabama, A.B. Higgins of Lake Palestine, Harold Higgins of Greenville and Cecil Higgins of Whitehouse; a sister, Helen Parker of Alabama; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Gerald Clayton. Pallbearers were Frank Waits, Donny Moore, James Morris, Gerald Clayton, Wayne Thompson and Joe Massey. Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Dowling, James Capehart, Ernest Arrington and Johnny Dowling. |
