Lon Morris Fine Arts Department sponsors summer camp, outreach program Lon Morris College Fine Arts department in conjunction with the LMC Camp and Outreach program, will sponsor summer camp for children, ages 7-17 from June 18-30 in the A. Frank Smith Fine Arts Building and the Smith-Turner Visual Arts building, 800 College Ave., Jacksonville. The first camp will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 18-22 and will have a fairy tale theme. Campers will explore acting, dancing, singing and instrumental activities, as well as arts and crafts. A certified storyteller who will teach the art of telling stories. A showcase will be on Friday, June 22. Week Two is entitled "Setting the Stage" and is planned for June 25- 30. Campers will prepare a musical "Robin Hood" in the five days. Half a day will be spent rehearsing lines and practicing dances and songs. Saturday, June 30, campers will showcase their work with two public performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets to the Week Two showcase are $5 per person. Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling (903) 589-4084. Although the two weeks are designed to work together, campers may attend only one camp if they desire. Cost is $125 per week, which includes lunch and supplies. There will be a 10 percent discount if attending both camps.
