Wall of Honor nominee

The board approved a nomination from the Rusk Industrial Foundation naming James I. Perkins as the recipient of the school's wall of honor award. The award is made every two years. Four years ago Dr. Jim Swink received the recognition. Two years ago, there were no nominations.

Mr. Perkins graduated from Rusk High School in 1955. He is a graduate of The University of Texas and The University of Texas Law School. He is chairman of the board of Citizens 1st Bank and has contributed time and money to the betterment of Rusk. He is responsible for 70 college scholarships to Rusk High School students.

He and his wife, Margaret, are parents of two children, both Rusk High School graduates and now practicing attorneys.

Mr. Perkins will be honored in the fall at a football game and reception.
