History of Lions Clubs given at recent meeting

New member Evelyn Stewart was inducted into the Rusk Lions Club April 12 by Artys Brown. A short history of Lions International, District 2 S-1 and the Rusk Lions Club was presented.

A short history of Lionism reveals that it was officially formed in October of 1917. The Rusk club was organized on Aug. 29, 1940, and chartered on Oct. 24, 1940, with 28 charter members. The club will send $100 to be used for the parade honoring our Cherokee County Veterans of Wars.
