Winner for the Lions Club American Cancer Society Relay for Life package was Doris Cook. Her name was drawn at the April 26 club meeting. The six items she received were a two-night stay at the Westin Inn; four Texas State Railroad tickets; breakfast for two at the Ironhorse Mercantile; lunch for two at the Legacy of Harvey Collins; dinner for two at the All Star Barbecue and $50 cash. The total package amounted to approximately $400. Amy Derrington put together the package and local merchants donated the gifts. The original goal set was to raise $2,000 and thus far the club has raised $2,192 for the American Cancer Society.

The Relay for Life was held April 30 at Mauldin Field in Jacksonville. All members who brought a new member into the club received a letter of ap- preciation from International President Jimmy M. Ross. Those who sponsor three or more new members this year will receive a distinctive year-round growth 'Membership Excellence' lapel pin of appreciation as a reward.
