Purple potties a big success
KIM LLOYD AND LUCILLE HIPP
Rusk

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Relay for Life purple potty.

The purple potty was used as a fundraiser to help flush out cancer. It started at the Cherokeean Herald newspaper office and was moved from business to business.

Each business made a donation and selected another business to send it to.

Most businesses purchased "potty insurance" to insure that it would not return to them.

There were several potties around Jacksonville and Alto. Laura Lindsey at Lazy L. Barbeque in Alto left one of the potties at their business and collected money for the cause.

We raised more than $2,000 from this aspect of the fundraiser.

Relay for Life was a great success, due in part to such generous people. The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, and that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.

There were so many people involved in this worthwhile effort that we can't even begin to say "thanks" to all who had a part in this successful event.
