Thanks for help Thanks again for helping make our Cherokee County Livestock Show a success. We thought you might like to know a little history of our organization. The National FFA was chartered in November 1928. Texas joined in 1929. The New Summerfield local chapter was formed in November 1938. The original charter may be seen in our trophy case in the "Ag" classroom. The FFA has grown to be the largest youth organization in the world. The New Summerfield FFA chapter has had a successful year. We placed first in our county hay, land and forestry contest. We came in second in our wildlife contest; however, we also placed second in the Area IX contest and qualified for the state wildlife contest near Childress May 8. Our land and forestry teams also qualified for their state contest. The forestry contest will be held at the SFA Experimental Forest April 25 and the land contest will be held at Tarleton State University in Stephenville April 26. Our chapter also participated in the Fort Worth Livestock Show in January and in the Houston Livestock Show in March. All these activities would not be possible if we didn't have the support of people like you. Again, from the "bottom of our hearts" thanks so much for your time, monetary support and most of all "moral" support. The officers and members of our Cherokee County livestock team are Brandon Phillips, chapter president; Bryan Bolton, chapter vicepresident; Jason Bradberry, chapter treasurer; Eric Murphrey, chapter secretary; Shawn Gore, chapter sentinel; David Vickers, chapter reporter; Max McCormack, advisor; and Colt Collins, Damean Carpenter, Colby Grabow and Austin Akin, members. |
