MARIE HARRIS FOSTER

Funeral for Marie Harris Foster, 82, of Rusk was at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lee Welch officiating. Burial was in Russell Cemetery on FM 23. Mrs. Foster died May 18. She was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Tellico Plains, Tenn. to the late Sam and Mary Alice Hunt Harris. She had resided in Rusk for 35 years. She was a Baptist and retired from the Rusk State Hospital after 25 years of service.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Edmond Paul Foster in 2001; and two brothers, Ted Harris and Reed Harris. Survivors are a son, Sammy Foster of Rusk; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Ronnie Hall of Rusk, Susan and Scott Womack of Rusk, Debbie Blevins of Tyler; two sisters and brothersin law, Willa Mae and Dillard Nichols of Maryville, Tenn. and Margaret and Oscar O'Dell of Tellico Plains; seven grandchildren, Mark Hayes, Sydney Womack and Ethan Womack, all of Rusk, LaShawn Lloyd of Mansfield, Brian Foster of Denton, Ashley Blevins and Austin Blevins of Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Mickalya, and Chris of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Salena Kimbrell of Rusk.
