TOMMIE BURTON

Funeral for Tommie Sudduth Burton, 71, of Jacksonville was at 11 a.m. Friday at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Tim Ground officiating. Burial was in Myrtle Springs Cemetery at Ponta.

Mrs. Burton died May 8. She was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Carthage, Miss.

She received her bachelors degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee and completed her anesthesia training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La.

She moved to Jacksonville in 1959 to work at Nan Travis Memorial Hospital.

She married Phillip Ray Burto in in 1960, who preceded her in death in 1989.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her children and their spouses, Phyllis and Greg Dacus of Tyler, Mary Margaret and Bill Weddington of Fort Worth; and Grey and Keri Burton of Nacogdoches; and grandchildren, Haley, Rachel and Grant Dacus and Peyton, Austin and Adisan Burton.

Pallbearers were Rob Beall, Clay Carter, Foster Carter, Robb Legg, Grant Dacus and Danny Alewine.
