NEWS homecoming Sunday Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church will hold their annual homecoming services Sunday, May 20, with Bro. Don Copeland as the speaker. Singing will begin at 10:30 a.m. and worship begins at 11 a.m. A business meeting, covered dish lunch and an afternoon singing will follow morning services. Shiloh slates memorial service May 20 The annual Shiloh Memorial Day service will be held Sunday, May 20. The homecoming celebration will be at the Shiloh Pavilion two miles west of Alto on FM 752. Those attending are asked to bring a lunch. There will be a brief business meeting immediately before lunch. Donations may be mailed to the Shiloh Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 315, Alto 75925. Computer classes planned The Jacksonville Public Library is sponsoring computer training classes for the general public beginning. These classes are provided through the auspices of the Texas State Library's Loan Star Libraries program, and will be taught by David Anderson has more than 15 years of networking experience including NetWare® and various flavors of Microsoft® Windows™. He was a programmer for a total of 4 years. He's repaired and built computers since 1991 and has also been a database adminis- trator for about a year, in addition to other duties. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional who also holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He has also taught computer science classes at both Lon Morris and Tyler Junior College. Mr. Anderson has been the instructor during the previous computer training classes at the Jacksonville Public Library.Signup sheets are now available at the circulation desk of the library. Later sessions will be announced closer to the start dates, and signups will be taken at that time. Classes will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Topics covered will be Basics of Windows, May 14; File Management, May 17; Basics of Internet I, May 21; Basics of Internet II, May 24; Basics of E-mail I, May 31; Basics of E-mail II, June 4; Using Microsoft Word, June 7; Using Microsoft Excel, June 11; and Security 101: Spyware and Viruses, June 18. |
