Sock hop set at Sonic Drive-In
Activities will launch the Rusk Fair on the Square when poodle-skirted women will be carhops from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Sonic Drive-In. There will be music to the sounds of 50s and 60s. All tips will go to the Rusk Chamber of Commerce's Fair on the Square. There will be an area designated for a sock hop. Also, space will be allowed for persons to sit in lawn chairs or on blankets to watch the dancing. The annual Fair on the Square will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 26. Music from the 50s and 60s will be played all day and live entertainment will be featured as fair goers will shop and eat from the arts and crafts and food booths. There will be games and free giveaways for youngsters and free rides on "Charlie the Choo-Choo," returning this year. |
