Funeral for Christene S. Walters, 79, of Jacksonville, was at 1 p.m. Saturday at Autry Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Earle's Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Walters died April 24. she was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Ironton. She was a Wal-Mart greeter in the garden center and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kelly Walters of Lindale, Kenneth and Brenda Walters of Troup and Keith and Melody Walters of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Dean Brown of Tyler; a sister, Sheila Vanella of Denver, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one niece. Honorary pallbearers were Wal-Mart associates.
