National Day of Prayer slated Thursday, May 3

The Rusk Ministerial Alliance will sponsor the annual National Day of Prayer observance on the courthouse lawn at noon Thursday May 3. The Rev. Keith Hassell of Grace Fellowship Church will present the welcome and introductions for the service on the north steps of the courthouse. Karen LaVergne of Sacred Heart Catholic Mission will present a special in song. Offering prayers will be Judge Chris Davis, government; Don Woodard, military; Robin Parsons, law enforcement and national security; Gloria Jennings, media; Floyd Simpson, medical and mental health; Ricky Hassell, education; Mike Murray, business and economy; Darrell Cranford, church; and Ike Daniel, families. The Rev. Lee Welch of First Baptist Church will lead the congregation in "God Bless America." The benediction will be offered by Robby Arrington of Rusk Church of Christ.

Missionary will speak

Suzanne Crocker, who served with her husband and four children, as a missionary in Africa for 10 years will speak at the 10:50 a.m. worship service Sunday at the Reklaw Baptist Church. For information call (936) 369-4327.
