Spring clean-up in Rusk will be April 28, May 5 Rusk spring clean-up days have been scheduled for 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays, April 28 and May 5 at the city barn on U.S. Highway 69 and Conley Park. The dumpsters are only available to those persons living within the city limits or who are on city water service. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality stringent regulations will be enforced. Items that are not accepted include liquids of any kinds, whole tires must be slit or quartered, oil or oil filters, refrigerators, air condition units or any appliance containing CFC's (Freon), lead acid batteries, hazardous waste, chemicals or pesticides, paint or paint buckets only if paint is completely dry and free of liquid, medical waste or any kind and dead animals. Things that can be placed in the dumpster include brush and yard waste, bulky items, household items, furniture, outdoor grills, dishwashers, appliances that do not use Freon, paper and cardboard items, lawn mowers, construction debris, wood and metal items, mattress sets and water heater. Anything can be thrown away as long as the item is not on the nonaccepted listing. All items must be handled by two persons. |
