WIC help is available

A program designed to assist women, infants and children (WIC) is available to low income Rusk citizens. WIC assists pregnant, postpartum and breast-feeding women, as well as children younger than five. Also, helpful nutrition information relating to family needs is available. Information is available at the WIC office for other family health and medical services, as well as breast-feeding information.

Eligible monthly income guidelines vary from $1,511 for one person to $5,180 for a family of eight.

WIC services are available at 1656 S. Jackson St., Suite 167, Jacksonville from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 Monday through Friday and from 8:30-5:30 on the third Saturday of the month; and at 103 N. Marcus in Alto from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
