Cherokee County Relay for Life is April 27-28 at Mauldin Field Cherokee County's America Cancer Society Relay For Life will be from 7 p.m. April 27 to 7 a.m. April 28 at Jacksonville High School Mauldin Field. Survivor registration and reception begins at 6 p.m. April 27. Theme this year is…NASCAR, as participants race for a cure. "There is no finish line until we find it," said Cynthia Kline, 2008 RFLchairman. NASCAR is broken down to mean N is for network of; A is for action to; S is for stop; C is for cancer and; A is for accelerate; and R is research. Persons needing any information about the Survivor Celebration may contact Louise Pierson, survivor chairman at (903) 586-1401. The opening ceremony begins at 7 p.m. and the luminaria starts at 9:30 p.m. Goal this year is to honor 150 survivors. Those wish to participate on a survivor team, please indicate it on the registration form.
