HARRY RUSSELL JR.

Funeral for Harry Russell Jr. 83, of Alto,, formerly of Humble, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim Goforth officiating.

Burial was at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vick Cemetery near Porter.

Mr. Russell died Monday in Jacksonville. He was born May 8, 1923, in Orangefield to John H. and Rosalee Chesson Russell.

He lived in Humble most of his life before moving to Alto, where he had lived for the past eight years.

Mr. Russell worked for many years overseas in the oil field for the Aramco & Bechtel Companies.

He was a member of the Campground Baptist Church in Alto and a former member of Mims Baptist Church in Conroe. He was a US. Marine Corporal in World War II and served in the South Pacific as a machine gunner.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Bennice Russell; a brother, Alfred Russell; and two sisters, Eula Mae Spencer and Quida Esterling.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Russell and Dixi Russell of Alto; a son and a daughter-in-law, Philip and Melinda Russell of Dublin; grandchildren, Derik Russell and Marianne and Justin Hopper; great-granddaughter, Zoe Russell; numerous nieces and nephews.
