JESSIE KELLY ASH

Funeral for Jessie Kelly Ash, 98, of Alto was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the O. T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ken Wooley officiating. Burial was in Old Palestine Cemetery.

Mrs. Ash died Saturday. She was born May 23, 1908, in Elida, N.M. to Jesse P. and Lena Walters Kelly. She attended college at Oklahoma College for Women, East Central State Teacher's College in Oklahoma and Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College in Nacogdoches. She was a school teacher for 30 years and a member of the Old Palestine Baptist Church She lived most of her life in Alto and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Milburn Ash.

Survivors are five nieces, Gay Ash of Ratcliff, Juanita Kemp of Ratcliff, Sue Gildmeier of Waco, Ann Marks of Maryland and Joe Marie Marriott of Houston; a nephew, John T. Collier of Ratcliff; and special friend and caretaker, Viola George of Douglass.

Pallbearers were Dick Low, Charles Jeter and other friends. Doyle Click was an honorary pallbearer.
