JAMES WELDON SURATT

Funeral for James Weldon Suratt, 67, of Fort Worth was Nov. 18, 2006, at the Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Suratt died Nov. 14, 2006. He was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Fort Worthy, but moved to Rusk when he was three-years-old.

He married Barbara Brown on Nov. 6, 1965. They were married for 41 years when he died. He retired as a steel worker in 1995. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Tolly and Jim Suratt; siblings, Jack Suratt, Bud Suratt, Lois Forsyth, Marge Archivar, Evelyn Leeks and Jimmie Lou Suratt. Survivors are his wife, Barbara Suratt of Fort Worth; two sisters, Frances Harms of Boyd and Mary Davidson of Fort Worth; nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, John Henry Jones of Rusk.
