Sermon series underway

The Rev. Ken Jones, pastor of the Falvey United Methodist Church began a new series of sermons, "They Received Him Gladly" March 25.

The March 25 sermon centered around Luke 19 and involved Jesus and Zacchaeus, A Wee Little Man with a Giant Heart." Confirmation and baptism was held as four young people joined the church. The Palm Sunday worship service will center around "Come and Receive Jesus," Mark 12.

The church membership will participate in the community sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the pavilion at the Wells Cemetery. Also participating will be members of Calvary Baptist Church and other Wells churches.

Easter Sunday, the Rev. Jones will speak on Jesus and Mary Magdaline, "Faithfulness in Action! Do you see Jesus?" Scripture text will be John 20.

The April 15 message will come from John 21 and will be entitled "When the Risen Christ comes looking for us are you ready to serve?"
