Alto city clean-up slated

The City of Alto, Alto Lions Club and Alto Chamber of Commerce are having a city-wide cleanup day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 7. Orange vests can be picked up at the chamber office located on El Camino Real. Boy Scout Troops 405 and 105 will clean head stones at the New Hope Cemetery on U.S. 69 North by the community center. They will appreciate any help with this project. Dumpsters will be located by the water tower on Rusk St. Councilman Monty Collins will be there to answer questions from the general public.

Due to regulations by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, the following items will not be accepted by the landfill: tires, oil, oil filters, appliances which contain CFCs, lead acid batteries, or liquids of any kind. The landfill will accept brush, yard waste, bulky items, household items, stoves, dishwashers, water heaters and paper or cardboard items.
