Quiz Bowl winners
      Rusk Intermediate fifth grade gifted and talented students recently competed, and placed fourth, in the "Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl." The competition was a state-wide computerized quiz in which the students competed as a team against many Texas schools.

Church gives scholarship honoring Rusk pastor
      Members of the Tyler First Presbyterian Church have established The David O'Neal Endowed Scholarship at Austin College in Sherman. The annual scholarship honors the Rev. O'Neal for his 18 years of service. The Rev. O'Neal is currently pastor of the Rusk First Presbyterian Church.
