Robbers steal Family Dollar's safe, cash
Police have no suspects, no witnesses to crime

Intruders broke the front glass door of the Family Dollar Store on North Main Street in Rusk during the night March 15.

Lt. Stephen Hughes of the Rusk Police Department said Monday that a safe with an undetermined amount of money was taken from the building.

The burglary was discovered Friday morning when the morning clerk at the store opened for business.

The incident is under the investigation of the Rusk Police Department.

Currently, there are no suspects and no witnesses to the crime.

"This is the only burglary reported in the downtown area in some time," Lt. Hughes said.
