RUTH LANG BALAS

Graveside service for Ruth Lang Balas, 82, of Jacksonville was at 2 p.m. March 13 at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Kevin King officiating under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home. Mrs. Balas died March 8. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Jacksonville. She retired from Bealls General Office credit department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Laureate Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Lydia Lang; her husband, Louis J. Balas; a son, John Sanders; and stepgrandchildren, Brian Balas and Renee Balas.

Survivors are a son, Paul Lang Sanders of New Orleans, La.; a sister, Barbara L. McCullough of Jacksonville; two step-sons, Steve Balas of Eagle Lake and Tony Balas of Columbus; a step-daughter, Julie Lobpries of Angleton; a granddaughter, Melissa Long Sanders of Garland; two step-grandchildren, Clint Lobpries and Courtney Lobpries, both of Angleton.
