DAVID A. BARNES

Graveside service for David A. Barnes, 73, of Jacksonville was at 10 a.m. Monday at Jarratt Cemetery with the Rev. David Hallum officiating under the direction of Autry Funeral Home. Mr. Barnes died Thursday. He was born June 29, 1933, in Talco. He was a machinist with GE and Trane with more than 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean veteran from 1951-55, a wood worker making wooden toys and also a metal fabricator. Preceding him in death were his parents, Marshall and Ruth Barnes; his step-mother, Julia Carolyn Barnes and a sister, Lillie Mae Pike.

Survivors are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Cyndi Barnes, Celinda McCrary and Carolyn Allen and Sammy Sharp, all of Tyler and Cecilia and John Glud of Mountain Top, Pa. a help-mate, Mary Kirby of Jacksonville; a step-son, Steve Kirby of New Milford, Conn.; a step-daughter, Pam Kirby of Palestine; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
