Rusk basketball players go All-District
BY LELAND ACKER

J.J. SESSION
Despite missing the playoffs, the Rusk Eagle boys basketball team was well represented in the All-District 20-AAA basketball team.

J.J. Session was named 1st Team All- District. Session, who led the team in scoring several times, was known for his aggressive, full speed playing style. Session will return to play for the Eagles next year.

Senior Brent Jones was named 2nd Team All-District. Jones was dangerous from the three-point line, making several clutch three-pointers to give the Eagles momentum.

"We lose Jones this year, but I think John David (Beard) will be able to step up," said Head Coach Tracy Kincade. "We're getting most of our players back next year, I'm really excited."

Horrace Lewis, Eddie Harris, Demarcus Skinner and John Michael Jackson received honorable mention in the All-District selections.

Central, having won the district title with a 13-1 record, dominated the high-honors. The Bulldogs' coach Chad Collins was named Coach of the Year, while Junior Jacobi Bias was named Newcomer of the Year.

Central's Kyle Cook was named district MVP while Senior Chris Hicks was Defensive Player of the Year.
