CHANCE BATES

Funeral for Chance (Bulldog) Bates, 22, of Rusk, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rusk First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clifford Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery under direction of Mercy/McGowan Funeral Home.

Mr. Bates died Feb. 22 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1984, in Rusk, and was a lifelong resident. He attended Rusk High School. He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Christopher Bates, and his grandfather, Jamie Weaver.

Survivors include his mother, Johnnie Mae Weaver of Rusk; his father, Charles W. Bates of Palestine; a brother, Kyle Tinsley of Jacksonville; a halfsister, Crystal Bates Salazar; his grandmothers, Betty Weaver and Margaret Helm, both of Rusk; aunt and uncle Barbara and Jerry Emerson of Rusk; and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Brian Cannon, Chad Lewis, Chad Rogers, David McGowan, Johnathan Anderson, Chazden McIntyre and Kevin Stren-grin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Fisher, Josh Boykin and Sterlin Pratz.
