BETTIE ELIZABETH CHRISTOPHER

Funeral for Bettie Elizabeth Christopher, 80, of Alto will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Clater and the Rev. Clifton Reagan officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Christopher died Friday. She was born near Rusk on Aug. 20, 1926, to Charlie and Nellie Foot King. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for Wells ISD, the Townhouse Cafe and Meals on Wheels.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Osceola Christopher; a brother, C.L. King; and two sisters, Francis King and Mittie Ann King. Survivors are three sons and two daughters-inlaw, Larry and Mary Christopher of Dallas and Jerry and Debra Christopher and Jimmy Christopher, all of Alto; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Raymond Hamilton of Rusk; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Pleasure Jackson, Jerry Christopher Jr., Clyde Session, Jamaica Christopher, Bob Goldsberry and Dale Morgan. Grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.
