ROTARY CLUB NEWS
BY RENE MCCRACKEN SPECIAL CONTRIBUTOR

Rusk Rotary Club members, along with special student guests, Rachel Hicks and Brent Jones, and Rusk High School counselor Lisa Cochran were treated to a lunch of chickenspaghetti, salad and desert during their Wednesday, Feb. 6 meeting at the Southern Cherokee Credit Union. The program was introduced by Louraiseal McDonald. Guest presenter was Julie George of the Cherokee County Health Department. Her power-point presentation covered immunization and its importance to young and old alike. She spoke of many new vaccines which are now available, and of some Texas-only programs such as "Texas Vaccines for Children," which offers lowcost vaccines to children; and IMMTRAC, a computer-based program in which shot records are kept forever.

After the program, the regular prize-drawing winner was Forrest Phifer, who walked away with a fruit basket.

Students Rachel Hicks and Brent Jones closed the meeting by leading the club in the Rotary 4-way test; and the meeting-closing bell was rung by Brent.
