For the 2007 food check out week Cherokee County Farm Bureau held a "Farmer's Share Lunch" consisting of a sausage wrap with a tortilla, a bag of chips and a drink for 25 cents.
This is the amount or share of money the farmer would get for the meal. CCFB set up at the Southland Feed Stores of Richard Massingill in Rusk and Jacksonville. Greg James and Ernie Long provided the use of a cook trailer. More than 300 lunches were served and more than $400 donated. The money was split between HOPE and The Good Samaritan.
