East Texas Medical Center Jacksonville was honored as a long-time member of the Texas Hospital Association.

The hospital was one of four throughout the state to receive 75-year membership awards from the Association in 2006. The award was presented to hospital officials by Della Vallejo, THA's membership manager, Monday in Jacksonville.

"ETMC Jacksonville has joined the ranks of 23 other Texas hospitals that have achieved 75-year membership status in THA," noted Ms. Vallejo. "This is a significant milestone, and THA thanks the hospital for its long-term support."

Founded in 1930, the Texas Hospital Association is the leadership organization and principal advocate for the state's hospitals and health care systems.

One of the largest hospital associations in the country, THA represents more than 85 percent of the state's hospitals and health care systems, which employ some 320,000 health care professionals statewide.
