Brookshire Bros. announces new changes in management Brookshire Brothers Ltd. announced a restructuring of company leadership. Jerry Johnson, former chief administrative officer, will become president and chief executive officer. Jack Gabriel, executive vicepresident of retail operations, will assume the responsibilities of chief operating officer. Milton Hixson, of Austin will become the new chairman of the board of directors for the Lufkin-based company. These announcements were made following a meeting of the company's board of directors Thursday, Feb. 1, in Austin. Brookshire Brothers is a grocery chain headquartered in Lufkin, with more than 5,600 employee-owners operating more than 70 stores throughout Texas and Louisiana. Brookshire Brothers is one of the world's leading retail distributors of branded gasoline.
