Despite the best efforts by the Rusk Eagles, the Crockett Bulldogs still pulled away with a 94-61 victory in Crockett Friday.
"We played pretty well, but Crockett is a good team," said Head Coach Tracy Kincade. "They jumped on us early and we couldn't recover."
Crockett got off to a 26-14 jump in the 1st quarter, then extended their lead to 24 points in the 2nd quarter. The Eagles managed a 22-point 4th quarter explosion, but by then the Bulldogs had too big of a lead to overcome. Eddie Harris led the way with 16 points followed by J.J. Session who scored 13. The Eagles were 22 of 48 from the field, five for 12 from the free throw line, made seven steals and committed 12 turnovers.
The loss drops the Eagles to a 4-7 record in District 20-AAA play. The Eagles will conclude their season by playing in Central on Friday and hosting Hudson on Tuesday. Sub-varsity games begin at 5 p.m.
