Hortons return home after long vacation

President Sonny Adams began the meeting by welcoming past president Cliff Horton and wife, Lucy, who have been on an extended vacation, back to the club. Charlie Burfoot introduced his wife Boots Burfoot.

Bobbie Burch announced the Rusk High School Leo Club will meet with the club next Thursday to receive their new Leo Club banner. Lion Tim Timmons, who is their sponsor, will make the arrangements for them to attend.

Ms. Burch reminded members that District Gov. Lion Bonita Lowrie will meet with the Rusk Lions Club at noon on Thursday, Feb. 8. Tim Timmons said he had received an e-mail from the State Leo Club chairman and a date of March 31 has been designated for Lions Camp clean up day by Leo Club members.

Song leader Jim Richings said he had lost a very good friend and fellow Lion from the Waco Lions Club, Lou Stein. Mr. Stein had been the person who convinced him to become a Lion member.
